This years Faculty Art Show took place Nov. 3-13 in the Navajo room of the Kirk Student Center with a variety of artwork displayed for students and faculty.

"The Faculty Art Show displays artwork that is made by the art department faculty," said Sarah Capawana, chair of the art department.

"It functions to show students and community members the kinds of artwork that are created by members of the art department," Capawana said.

Although MCC doesn't have an art gallery, the art department puts on two shows each year consisting of both faculty and student art work.

"We have to put together a makeshift gallery in the Navajo Room. So, every fall we have an exhibition of faculty artwork for two weeks and also every spring we have a student art show for two weeks," Capawana said.

Art professor Chris Todd contributed some of his own artwork in the art showcase.

"I have an interactive video piece that is in this art show based on this gentleman who has videos on YouTube. He is a self-proclaimed guru, but no one watches his videos," he explained. "I made this video piece where you can walk into the space and you trigger different video feeds of this guy telling you how to fix parts of your life."

"I like looking at things that kind of go under the radar. I spend a lot of time looking at things that have only been viewed twenty times," Todd said.

With each piece of art at the show seemingly topping the previous, it was nearly impossible to pinpoint a particular display to highlight.
