MCC hosts Smithsonian exhibit on Chinese history

MCC students have the chance to look into China's ever-changing future through the eyes of seven Chinese photographers.
These photographers may all see the same thing, yet each is a different perspective. This is an opportunity to see Chinese culture captured through the eyes of real people and real situations.
There will be 57 color and black and white photographs on display in the exhibit portraying the history of China. Each photo has a caption explaining the image.
MCC was awarded a grant for this exhibit about a year ago and since then many of the faculty members and people from the community have been working very hard to put this together.
To be awarded this grant MCC had to agree to some very strict requirements. All of the photos are originals and must be kept at a very precise climate to preserve them.
Some of the partners involved are Outreach librarian Zoe Luter, International Education, Anthropology, Institutional Advancement, and the Chinese Restaurant Association of Arizona.
The Documenting China exhibit will be available for viewing at the MCC library on March 1 thru April 27.
The exhibit will be closed every Monday, spring break, and Easter.
