Fall baseball begins after late start

Teams in MCC's fall baseball conference have already played more than 20 games this season, but Head Coach Tony Cirelli is just getting started with his season. "I won't put a team out there wearing a Mesa uniform that's not ready, I just won't do it," Cirelli said. The MCC cross country team is focusing on winning a qualifying position in the Region I Championship in order to earn an appearance at the National Junior College Athletic Association National Cross Country Championship. In what Head Coach Eamonn Condon calls a rebuilding year, the men's and women's teams have performed exceptionally well.

With more than 20 games under the Lady Thunderbirds' belts the team is still striving to find a consistent cohesiveness that translates over to a winning season. MCC's volleyball coach Ku'ulei Salinas, is turning the program around from being nearly unknown in the 1990's and early 2000's to becoming a strong program once again. Building respect within the Arizona region and around the southwestern United States as well.

Soccer head coach Andrew Guarneri said he'd be lying if he didn't admit that this year's soccer season has been a disappointment. Guarneri is the head coach of both the women's and men's soccer teams. According to the MCC Athletics website, men's soccer has won one game and lost 13 so far this season.
